: My Jack Russell "Rocker" had a severe viral infection about a month ago. He's been given a clean bill of health but his body temp seems to get real high occasionally - Is this normal in Jacks? Its usually when he wakes up or is playing but sometimes he's calm & hot. There really is no rhyme or reason - Im just curious if its somewhat normal?

Are you taking his temp or are you going by the feel of his body? If you are going by feel I would think this is pretty normal, mine have warm bellies after sleeping or playing hard. As for being warm when calm guess it depends on where he is being calm at, sunspot, blanket etc. If you are taking his temp and it elevated then I would suggest a vet trip to find the reason.
