| Question: : I've been trying to housebreak my jack russell pup now for about 2 months and have had little success. I have an older JR and he was easy to break, but the new pup has it all backwards. I take her outside often, and sometimes leave both dogs out for an hour at times. As soon as they are let back in the puppy will "go" on the carpet in less than 5 minutes. I've tried a crate and paper, but I'm at my wits end and don't know what to do. Please help! : Thanks - Jeremy
Sorry -- your pup doesn't have it all backwards, you do. Every time you "try" something and then don't follow thru teaches your pup the exact opposite of what you expect. And FYI -- every dog is different so please do not assume that your pup is anything like your adult terrier. I suggest you refer to the FAQ regarding Housebreaking (link below) for information on how to train your pup. Good luck, | |||
