: Hi!

: My 10 month old JR is a tick magnet! We applied his first application of Frontline about 2 weeks ago - on his shoulders as directed, but he is still getting ticks! We live in Northern NJ- which is tick heaven, but we thought with the Frontline the ticks would be kept at bay. (The ticks do seem to be much easier to remove since using Frontline, but they are still attaching to him!)

: My question is - Is there anything else we can do? Is it safe to use Frontline AND a spray - if so, do you have any recommendations? We always check him thoroughly after we go for a walk etc. yet somehow we are missing some! I am taking him to the vet this afternoon to get a Lymes vaccination, (but I am totally disgusted by the ticks and don't want them on my dog, in my house or on ME!!)

: Once again thanks for all of the great advice.

Hi Laurie,

I live in the same area and I know how bad the ticks can be. We use Frontline and the ticks still will attach but then die. Both my terriers are vaccinated for Lymes so that is a very good idea for your terrier. I try to keep my two from getting in the brushy areas of our property where ticks love to reside. This helps somewhat.

I don't think using a spray plus the Frontline would be a very good idea. You will be applying too many chemicals to your pup. Ask your vet about using a Preventic collar instead of the Frontline. This product deters the ticks from attaching.

Good luck!
