Question:

Hello once again I'm trying very hard not to panic over what our vet told us. I've registered our 8m old male into obedience classes and they don't seem to be going very well. I wrote this forum just recently about some concerns we have and explained it was all we have in our area for trainers. I took my dog to the vet because he wasn't up to par and seemed a little crankie. He had a little tempature other than that he's fine. I took the time to explain what's been happening to my dog all just started. When I explained how he went into flop on me when we were leaving after class she told me he MAY have taken a seizer! I felt so stupid for not reconizing this, I thought he was tired and performed one of those funny little stunts although this was the first flop. I've been around dogs that have had major seizures and didn't reconize this though. I'm very horrified at this point. We lost our family Sheltie in april 2002 and he had many health issues for many years. We loved this dog very much at the same time we felt stranded with a patient! Now I've been reading the search engine and see that many dogs with seizers live long active lives on medications. We've decided not to test just yet, should this happen again we definately will. We're hoping it never does. He has a very good blood line as his breeder breeds for quality, she's also very kind and helpful. My question is has anybody ever herd of dog have a seizier stress related? He's always been on turbo and we keep him pretty busy on the go everyday. I don't want this to happen again although I don't wish to be stranded at home either, the vet said it may never happen again but I'm very worried. Has anybody ever had only one seizure? I'll never put a choker collar on him again and I'm not sure if we'll bother returning to class :( The vet has given us some great info and names of trainers in other areas. I need some guidance to train my dog its very hard with little options. He is a very good boy most of the time.
Thank you!
