Story Name: Locked out
From: Laurie Markvart
My Jack Russell Story:
One night as I was sitting outside the front of my house with some frinds, I made the mistake of not inviting my JR "Dinkus" out with me. As usual he barked, cried, growled, scratched at the door, etc. to get my attention that he wanted outside to visit too. I knew that I should be nice to him and let him out but I also know of what a terror he can be to guests that are new to him. Anyway, after awhile things became very quiet inside and I went to check on him. (If you have a JR, you know that when things have gone quiet, something mischievous is going on) Anyway, to my dismay, the front door is locked from the inside and I don't have my keys with me. I thought to myself, how could this have happened? I'm the only one who could have locked it from the inside, but then how could I have gotten out? Ah-ha, I know! As my little sweetie was barking and jumping at the door, he locked me out! Yes indeed, as he can vertically jump up to 4 feet in the air, he hit the lock and locked me out!
When I looked in the window I could swear the look on his face said it all. He sat there with his head tilted looking at me as if to say, "So, you want in do 'ya?" Needless to say, I had to crawl up to the second story and enter thru an open window. From now on, "Dinkus" always comes outside with me and I believe he always has a smile on his face when he does!
