JRT and Harsh Winters in CanadaPosted by: Wendy

Not a question, just a comment to the person who wants to know about the harsh winters in Toronto and owning a JRT. I to live in Toronto and consequently bought my puppy in the middle of winter. For the fist couple of weeks it was really hard to get him adjusted to the cold because he was soooo small. After that Hugo LOVED the snowbanks, to the point that he would dive into the freshly fallen snow and all we could see was his little brown ear. To tell the truth he really didn't know what to make of the nice weather...after all his favorite snow bank was gone!
As for taking him for walks, I was carful not to make them too long, and not to take him where there was too much salt. And always remember to completly dry their paw pads, even between the toes. I am confident when I say that getting a JRT in Toronto is a great idea, as long a you pass the JRT Profiler!
