: My wife and I own a 1yr old Jack Russell named Kandy. She likes to bite and bark at my hands(not my wife's) for no apparent reason. I am usually just sitting watching TV when this behavior happens, it seems like she is upset or mad at me. Could you help me out with this problem. thanks,
: Kurt

Hi, Kurt,

It sounds like Kandy is trying to get you to play. Be sure to say no when she does this, as you don't want her to "train you" by starting a play session whenever she tries nipping at your hands.

Try giving her some more exercise and play time. Even a few minutes working on various obedience exercises would be a great way to give her some extra attention. If she's bored, she's going to find some way to bide her time, and it may not be a way you'll approve of! I like to get my terriers really tired a few times a week with heavy exercise. Some need more than that, and some less. All depends on the dog.

Good luck!
