Question:

: I read in the June issue that tomatoes are harmful to JRT's. My two year old female plays catch with the cherry tomatoes in our garden and then proceeds to eat them. Should I stop her from doing this?

Hi Naelni,

I looked in the June issue and couldn't find the article you are talking about could you be mistaken about the issue it was in?

Regardless, as with anything, too much of it can be harmful. A cherry tomato here and there should not hurt your pup (unless it has an allergy to it.

If you are growing a lot of these tomatoes then my suggestion is to fence off that area or make sure you pick all the ripe ones before they fall off the vine.

My guys always get tossed a cherry tomato when I am making a salad.

Moderation is the key.

Regards,
Marie
