Question:

: How old does a JRT puppy have to be before he is able to impregnate another dog?

------------------ Response Area -------------------
Hi Mandy,
I don't know that there is a "set age." This likely varies from dog to dog. A good rule to follow with an intact female is to keep her from ALL MALES for 28 days from the first day of her heat cycle.
If your dogs are old enough to have estrus or for you to worry about impregnation at a young age, they are old enough to be spayed and neutered. I strongly encourage you to speak with your vet about these procedures, and what life with intact dogs can be like and the level of responsibility it and breeding involves. There are also posts on these subjects all over the board and site; please check them out.
Heather
