: I am wondering if cow hooves are alright to give my JRT. I do not give them that often and they seem to last a while. Also, does anyone give their dog(s) Greenies or Booda Velvet Bones. I give them to my dogs every so often right out of the freezer as they make them last a little longer with these agressive chewers. :-) Thanks!

Hi Craig,

I can only answer for myself. I no longer give my terriers cow hooves to chew on, for two reasons. One of them being I have had one of my terriers break teeth on them and the other is they have managed to break off sharp pieces of the hooves. Okay and I hate the smell too!

I do give Booda Velvets from time to time and they really enjoy them but if someone has a terrier with corn allergies these are not a good chew item for them.

The top two chew items in our household are the raw marrow bones and bully sticks.

If you decide to give your dogs the cow hooves I would supervise them while they are chewing.

Hope this helps!
