In Reply to: JRT sleeping on bed with me!!
: About six months ago I started letting my 2yr old JRT sleep with me on the bed. This was due to his whimpering at night when we shut him up in his crate to go to bed. I thought that I could let him sleep with me a few nights just so he would feel safe. After a few days of him sleeping with me, I got tired of it. So I tried to start back putting him in his crate to sleep, when I did this he would bark and whimper until I came and let him get on the bed with me. I've tried letting him sleep on a doggie pillow beside my bed but he just gets off the pillow and jumps onto the bed. HOw do I break him from his bad habit of sleeping on the bed with me?? Please Respond!!!
As you may already know you opened up Pandora's Box lol!! Once these little manipulators get into your bed there is usually no turning back.
The only thing that is going to work in order to reverse this is your commitment, perseverance and a good set of ear plugs. This is going to end up being a battle of the wills, start crating him again.
If you can't stand the noise you may end up thinking his sleeping in bed with you isn't all that bad ;)
