Question:

: I just got a Jack Russell Terrrier- and everthing that I have read about them says -GIVE THEM JOBS! Well, what I was wondering is: What kind of jobs can you recommend?? I am a new dog owner and was wondering what type of things other Jack Russell owners have done to keep their work-aholics occupied.
: Thanks

Response:

Jennifer -

The key to a happy Jack Russell is EXERCISE! If that comes from a "job" or just from playing around, it will benefit you and your terrier.

Some suggestions:
- Agility (good exercise for your terrier - and the owner too)
- Flyball (Jack Russell do well with this sport. Join a team!)
- Trials (Lure Coursing, Racing, High Jump, GTG, Obedience, Trailing and Locating - all work the Jack Russell's body and/or mind)
- Walks
- Ball Toss
- Frizbee Toss
- Working in the field (with an experienced judge)

Hope these help!

Thanks
Rick
