Question:

: For those who are having digging issues, here's what we did: We have 2 wonderful JRT's who love to dig. We have a hotwire around our fence to keep them in, and have found a great solution for the rest of our yard. We purchased a children's sandbox from a toy store. We went with one that looks as if it was made from stones, so it looks great in the yard. We filled it with dirt instead of sand, and the dogs absolutely love it! It has taken a little training to teach them to dig in "their spot" but so far it has saved the rest of our yard. Occasionally they will chase a bug or something down into the grass and dig a small "divot" but the majority of the digging is done in the box. And the best part is that it comes with a lid so we can control their access and keep the rain out. This may not work for everyone, but it has been great for us!

Response:

Melissa, that sounds like a great idea. Hope it offers another option for digging-JR's who live with people who value the look of their yards. Some of us no longer care, and have given up! Thanks so much for your suggestion. C.P.
